A brief description of the services we offer is given below: Ecological Clerk of Works - Using appropriately experienced ecologists to oversee delicate operations which have the potential to impact on protected species or habitats. Often working closely with construction site personnel and ensuring compliance with legislation and best practice. Habitat Design and Creation - Designing and overseeing the creation of new habitats, such as ponds for amphibians including great crested newt, and hibernacula for reptiles, with post-project monitoring programmes to ensure the success of the works. Constructing artificial badger setts, otter holts, bird and bat boxes to high specification. Exclusion Fencing - Managing the installation of temporary or permanent fencing to required specification, for the exclusion of protected species, including great crested newt, reptiles and water vole from areas such as development sites, integrating pitfall traps and access gates into the design as necessary. Bat Roost Resurrection - Ensuring that bat tree roost features are not lost when a tree becomes unstable, or is a health and safety risk, bat roost features can be removed and resurrected on nearby mature trees resulting in no net loss of bat roosting potential within a site. Invasive Species Control - Management and removal of invasive species of plant, including Japanese knotweed (Fallopia japonica), Himalayan balsam (Impatiens glandulifera), giant hogweed (Heracleum mantegazzianum) and others.
